KICKBOXING

Kickboxing is a combat sport of boxing feet and fists , born in Japan after the Tokyo Olympics in 1964 with the hit live knees ( no entry) . This sport comes from the fusion of two ancient arts: boxing and karate kyokushinkai .

Kickboxing in its different styles (K1 Rules, Low kick, Full contact etc..) is expression of combat sports percussion (boxes / kicking), that can develop and combine multiple physical and mental qualities within ethical values (respect for the opponent, rules, etc…)

WAKO and WAKO PRO support via Federations of their affiliates or representatives, allow athletes to express themselves fully in compliance with the values and integrity of practitioners.

LOW KICK

Combat sport percussion techniques (feet / fist) worn with full power and contact the authorized targets: the front and side of the head and body.

Specificity: The kicks can also be worn (especially the tibia) on the inner or outer thigh of the opponent.

The dress is short.

Born in Tokyo in 1964 after the Olympics. Introduced WAKO Kickboxing in its tournaments in 1992.

K1-RULES

Same definition as “Low Kick”, the “low kick” is allowed.
Specificity: The input (duration less than five seconds) the neck is also only allowed to lend a direct knee which can also give free entry (eg flying knee).

FULL-CONTACT

Same definition as “Low Kick” but neither low-Kick, or seizures, or knee are permitted. The kicks are worn above the waist which makes them particularly spectacular.
The dress is satin pants.
“Full Contact” was the first form of fighting on the ring adopted by WAKO. In France, the Full-Contact has been practiced for thirty years. This was the first discipline to discipline Kickboxing Gala presented in Monaco in 1977 by the American Bill Wallace said “the fastest leg of the world” are retained his world title at this time.

The “WAKO PRO – World Association of Kickboxing Organizations” (www.wakopro.org) was founded in 1991 by Mr Ennio Falsoni, WAKO president at that time, to ensure the elite fighters of amateur athletes of kickboxing WAKO (www.wakoweb.com), founded in 1976, development of promotional kickboxing career. WAKO and WAKO PRO were two sides of the same coin. In 2006, the WAKO PRO was officially separated from the WAKO to enable it to become the world federation of amateur recognized by SportAccord International Federations Union. Under the current presidency of Mr Borislav Pelevic, newly elected on 24th November 2015, nowadays the WAKO gather 118 affiliated nations present on 5 continents. WAKO PRO was chaired for 18 years (1991 to 2009) by Mr. Ennio Falsoni, charismatic Italian champion of martial arts. Since 2009, his daughter Mrs Barbara Falsoni took over as WAKO PRO General Director, while Mr Falsoni leading WAKO. WAKO PRO gives priority and exclusivity to WAKO national federations for official representation in their territory. WAKO PRO offers the very best competitors coming from WAKO for international promotions and opportunities. WAKO PRO has created strong rules and standards that ensure promoters and fighters in their rights and interests. WAKO PRO guarantees the right decisions in championship fights. Its ethics require loyalty, fairness and integrity in the best interest of kickboxing, promoters and champions. WAKO PRO has adopted the code of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and is strongly against the use of any narcotic, drug or type dopant. WAKO-PRO is against discrimination on the basis of race, nationality and religion. It promotes fair play in sport. WAKO PRO is in the best interest of kickboxers, guaranteeing fair payment, equal treatment and respect for their rights. WAKO PRO holds about fifty annual events on five continents.

THE MONEGASQUE KICKBOXING FEDERATION, WAKO’S MEMBER, IS A WAKO PRO PARTNER

In the Principality of Monaco, the WAKO PRO is represented by Mr Claude POUGET, also President and National Technical Director, Expert eight degree black belt. of the Monegasque KickBoxing Federation. The Monegasque Federation is approved by the Monaco Government, recognized by the Monegasque Olympic Committee and WAKO’s member. The International Martial Arts Academy of Monaco, chaired by Félicia POUGET, is affiliated to the Monegasque Federation of Kickboxing and Krav-Maga.

The Monte-Carlo Fighting Masters & Trophies & the Wako Pro

Four editions of the Monte-Carlo Fighting Masters (2013, 2014, 2016) or Monte-Carlo Fighting Trophy (2017) have been organized : In total : 21 Kickboxing World championships ! “Monaco, Kickboxing World Capital for the years 2013 & 2016 !” (Award given by the Wako Pro International Kickboxing Organization) The monegasque Claude Pouget awarded World Kickboxing Promoter for the years 2013 & 2016 (Award given by the Wako Pro International Kickboxing Organization)
