The 2nd Monte Carlo Fighting Masters 2014
Under the High Patronage and presence of HSH Prince Albert II, the second Monte Carlo Masters Fighting was presented by Baroness Cécile de Massy and Claude Pouget, organised by the International Martial Arts Academy of Monaco.
On Saturday, June 14, from 8 p.m. to midnight, 14 world champions of Thai Boxing competed in seven world championships in this renowned discipline steeped in tradition which is an integral part of the culture of Thailand.
It was a unique evening under the auspices of the World Muaythai Council with the support of "Peace and Sport, The Organisation for Peace through Sport".
In the Gaston Medecin hall of the Louis II Stadium, before 2500 spectators, including a number of celebrities, the world's greatest Thai boxing star, uakaw BANCHAMEK, was presented with the cup of HSH Prince Albert II and the title of World Super Welterweight Champion after his victorious battle. Mr. Joël BOUZOU, President of Peace and Sport, awarded this organisation's trophy to Pakorn SAKYOTHIN, crowned World Lightweight Champion, to underline the role of the champions in spreading the message of peace through sport.
In pure Thai tradition, the intense fights ensued in five three-minute rounds alternating with two-minute breaks. The fights were punctuated by a group of Thai musicians.
Ultimately, this second Monte Carlo Masters Fighting managed to delight both specialists of Thai Boxing as well as fans seduced by an exceptional show.
